Harmony Corps of Nigeria (HCN) is adopted by National Orientation Agency (Amendment) Bill 2019 (SB333), in the amendment of the National Orientation Agency Acts Cap. Number 100 laws of the federation of Nigeria, 2004 to provide for the operational framework of Harmony Corps, in order to further promote inter-ethnic integration, mediation, and peace building, mutual understanding, patriotism for peaceful co-existence and for other related matters.

The present situation and conditions in our country particularly harmony, peace and unity of the nation compels us to look back at the nation contemporary issues and concluded that this nation still needs an organization like Harmony Corps of Nigeria (HCN) that can contribute eﬀectively to the present harmony, unity and peace and development of the nation. With this understanding, we all felt that there is a need to create a national body that can work towards substantial realization of a truly peaceful and uniﬁed nation.
